About

About GuineaPig

GuineaPig is a free search tool that helps healthy volunteers find paid clinical trials recruiting near them. We pull live data from ClinicalTrials.gov — the U.S. National Library of Medicine's registry of clinical studies — and layer on compensation estimates, category filters, and eligibility matching to make browsing easier.

Where Our Data Comes From

Every trial listing on GuineaPig comes directly from ClinicalTrials.gov, operated by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This registry contains over 500,000 studies from 230 countries. We query the ClinicalTrials.gov API v2 for studies that are actively recruiting and accept healthy volunteers.

How Compensation Estimates Work

Most clinical trial sponsors do not publish exact compensation figures on ClinicalTrials.gov. The pay ranges shown on GuineaPig are rough estimates based on the study's phase, anticipated duration, and typical industry compensation rates for similar studies. They are not confirmed by sponsors and should not be relied upon. Always contact the study team directly to confirm actual compensation before enrolling.

What GuineaPig Is Not

  • We are not a medical provider and do not provide medical advice.
  • We do not screen, enroll, or pay participants. We are a search tool only.
  • We are not affiliated with any pharmaceutical company, clinical research organization, or government agency.
  • Eligibility indicators on GuineaPig use limited criteria (age and sex only) and do not constitute a medical determination.
